• Children:

• Elderly:

• Missed Dose:

How OFFOLON-OZ TAB works

OFFOLON-OZ TAB exerts its therapeutic effects through the combined action of its two active ingredients. Ofloxacin, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone, inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes crucial for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. This leads to bacterial cell death, effectively clearing bacterial infections. Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole, works by entering the microbial cell and undergoing reduction by intracellular electron transport proteins. This process generates reactive nitro radicals that damage the DNA and other macromolecules of anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, leading to their death. The combination ensures comprehensive coverage against a wide range of pathogens, including both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, as well as certain protozoa, providing potent antimicrobial action.

Precautions

• Inform your doctor about any history of epilepsy, CNS disorders, or kidney/liver disease.
• Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or artificial UV light during treatment, as Ofloxacin can cause photosensitivity.
• Patients with a history of myasthenia gravis should use this medicine with caution as it may worsen muscle weakness.
• Prolonged use may lead to fungal or bacterial superinfection. Report any new infections to your doctor.
